Our hero keeps walking into real electrical problems. Pick the right code answer and he walks away fine. Pick wrong and… well, that is how most of these rules got written in the first place.

Each one takes about a minute. Every answer comes with the actual code section behind it, so when you lose you at least lose educationally.
Every stage is built on a real rule from the 2023 NEC, but a one-minute game cannot carry the exceptions, the local amendments, or the judgment call your inspector is paid to make. Washington amends the code in WAC 296-46B, and Seattle and Tacoma run their own programs. Treat a correct answer here as “now you know what to look up” — the NEC Quick Guide is the next stop, and your AHJ has the last word.
Now that you know why the box has to be bigger, here is what it actually costs when it is your house and not a sprite — parts, labor, and the complications nobody warns you about, itemized before you call anyone.
